The Tcl scripting language extends the AX/4000 from a powerful interactive test tool (using the GUI) to an a fully automated test system.

Using Adtech Tcl, your AX/4000 can perform a battery of tests automatically, make decisions based on the test results, record the results and more.

Adtech Tcl lets you control an AX/4000 from a web interface, a database, a local or remote operator stand or a test scheduling program. You can record test results in files, databases, emailed reports, or display them on HTML browsers.

The only limit on what you can do with the AX/4000 and AxTcl is your imagination.

Noumena Corporation offers single Adtech Tcl lectures that complement our extensive Tcl/Tk training series, or complete courses that introduce Tcl and Tk with an emphasis on using the language with an AX/4000.

This single lecture introduces the basics of communicating with an AX/4000

The example shows how to capture packets on an IP over ethernet connection.

This lecture assumes the student is already familiar with Tcl and Tk and is meant to follow the Tcl-110, Tcl-120, Tcl-131, Tcl-141, Tcl-210 series as part of a 3-4 day training session.

ADT-110: Introduction to Tcl/Tk
This 5 lecture series introduces Tcl and Tk with an emphasis on using Tcl/Tk to program the Ax-4000.

Each lecture introduces some basic Tcl commands and concepts, and a component of AxTcl.

The exercises for these lectures will step students from simple AxTcl applications through an easily expanded GUI framework for running AxTcl based tests.

  • Lecture 3: String processing, the interface and analyzer
